Angthong National Marine Park is a protected archipelago of 42 limestone islands scattered across the Gulf of Thailand, roughly 60 to 90 minutes by private boat from Koh Samui. Towering karst cliffs, hidden lagoons, and dense jungle make it one of the most dramatic natural landscapes in southern Thailand — and the inspiration behind the fictional setting of The Beach.
The undisputed highlight is Emerald Lake (Thale Nai) on Koh Mae Ko, a striking saltwater lagoon enclosed by sheer cliffs, reached via a steep but rewarding staircase climb to a panoramic viewpoint. Elsewhere in the park, sheltered bays invite sea kayaking through narrow limestone channels, while several spots offer clear-water snorkeling among healthy reef.
Because of the distance and the range of activities, Angthong is offered exclusively as a full-day private charter, giving guests time for the viewpoint hike, kayaking, swimming, and a relaxed lunch on board. A national park entrance fee applies and is collected separately from your charter price.
